When I lived in New Orleans, hurricane evacuation meant road trip, YAY!!! During the short time that I called the Big Easy home, we never had serious damage from a storm. When my dear friend called me four years ago to say the party was at my place for the storm, I imagined a few days of fun with friends and then they would pack up and return to the city. And I would see them in NOLA for the holidays. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined the disaster that we watched unfold as we sat clued to the television 4 short years ago. I can recall the images as if this all happened yesterday. Today I feel shrouded with the same sadness. NOLA, I miss you but I have faith in your continued rebirth.
