Easter Tablescape

Lately I have been very interested in party/tablescape blogs. Over on Maddycakes Muse, there is an Easter Tablescape/Spring Party contest. There are some seriously talented people out there doing parties and table design. They gave me the inspiration to give it a shot.

For my Easter tablescape, I used a Battenburg tablecloth that I got from mom. That tablecloth must be at least 15 (maybe 20) years old. Each place setting consists of a gold charger (also very old), blue plates from the Dollar Tree, multicolor dishes from Target, and pastel egg holders (Home Goods) with glittered foam eggs (Joann's). For the centerpiece, I have used three grass slabs from Hobby Lobby with ceramic eggs (also Hobby Lobby), more foam eggs and a large blue craft egg (Michael's).
I have also started planning the dessert buffet. Of course, these samples won't see Easter. At least I have some idea of what I will have.

I had a lot of fun with my first attempt at a tablescape design contest. Thanks to Maddycakes for the inspiration.

  1. Wow - this is a whole new realm! Easter decorating! You have done a really good job. I saw at the shops today (Bed Bath and Table) the whole Easter decorating thing is getting to rival Christmas! (Well not quite, but it's getting there! lol!)
