Doctor Day 2009

For the last 3 years, I have assisted the Division of Youth Services with "Take a Child to the Doctor." It is a day of fun focused on health screenings and education for youth. This year we provided screenings to 195 kids. Physicians were there to recruit patients without primary care homes. The local SCHIP program was there to assist families with insurance applications. There were tons of vendors to tell families about youth-centered services in the community. The kids loved the Wii challenge, the backpack race, the Kids on the Block health education puppet shows, and the dance classes.
