The Saints Marched Home as Super Bowl Champions

I'm still on my Saints high. I wish I had been in Miami at the game, but I wasn't unfortunately. I did have my fellow Who Dat friends over for game. When we weren't cheering on the Saints, we were stuffing our faces. We had Martha Stewart inspired Nacho Supremo with charred tomatillo salsa and black bean and tomato salsa...delicious, Po Boy sliders, and King Cake among other things.
Back to the game, those guys played hard and finished strong. Thanks Saints for bringing the win home for the Who Dat Nation.

Feeling Crafty

Ok, there are so many things coming up...Valentine's Day, Mardi Gras, Saints in the Super Bowl, and birthdays. I have done a couple of projects to celebrate these things. The birthday card is for a friend who made a pretty generous pledge for the Kid's Fun Run. The mini pizza box (tutorial on Split Coast Stampers) will be used to house a little Vday gift for the Kid's teacher. Finally the Mardi Gras card is just because I'm a girl who loves NOLA. Oh yeah, did I say, "Who Dat?"

Wine Tag

My Pink Stamper has been doing challenges all weekend. I've been goofing around too much today to craft very much, but I did finally do the MPS tag challenge. It's just a quick and simple wine tag. Will I keep it for myself or give it as a part of the hostess gift for my friend, Stephanie? Decisions...decisions.

First Reconciliation

The Kid is growing up. Last month, he had his first reconciliation with Fr. Oberg. I am so proud of him.

Who's feeling jazzy?

It's that time...time for another challenge over on Jazzy Paper Designs. Tenia will be giving away something really cool. So get your projects in.

For this week's challenge, I have done another V-day card. I have really been feeling the Valentine spirit. Go figure.

Princess Natalie

My BFF's little girl recently turned three. I helped with her princess party, starting with these save the date cards.

The actual invitations were printed on parchment paper and rolled as scrolls for a royal effect.

The party was held at the neighborhood clubhouse (aka Castle). Guests were greeted with the Princess Natalie Crest made of foam board. The castle on the crest was made from the Paper Dolls Dress Up Cricut Cartridge. Also greeting our little friends was a garden frog from my yard adorned with a crown.

Upon entering, guests were encouraged to decorate crowns to ensure that every little one felt like a prince or princess for the day. (Notice I said encouraged. Getting 3 year olds to do things can be like herding cats. I have "re"found respect for the preschool teacher.) Afterwards, we photographed the willing tots with the life-size Princess Tiana.

Other party activities included Kiss the Frog, musical lily pads, and cookie decorating.

Most of the kids were drawn to the castle. The castle was very easy to make. The most difficult thing was getting the box. After many calls to local appliance stores and being told either "We haven't unboxed anything recently" or "We just broke down our boxes," I took a chance and stopped by a local retail chain around 6:30 one morning and made the score...a super big refrigerator box. I cut out a couple of windows and a door and the painted the box blue and sponged over the blue with purple to mimic stones/bricks. The castle was definitely the highlight of the party. I think fun was had by all.
